Charlotte Khuner, age 16, is a student at Berkeley Independent Studies and Berkeley High School. She learned performance from infancy by observing her parents' operatic activities, often performing alongside them. From an early age she has been part of fully staged productions. Recently, with Berkeley West Edge Opera she has portrayed The Patriotic Girl in Aïda, and with Open Opera's Così Fan Tutte she acted as Wolfgang Mozart. This last summer she portrayed three characters in "Stand by Your Man, the Tammy Wynette story" at Main Stage West, and has performed with the Yosemite Valley's annual "Bracebridge Dinner" productions for the last 6 years. Charlotte also composes her own songs (which she accompanies on the guitar) and creates humor/music videos. Her other interests include Shakespearean acting and directing, Scottish Dancing, swimming, drawing, babysitting, and dog-companionship with the family poodle Giungi. Last summer Charlotte took a month-long German Language immersion course in Minnesota, and would like to spend a student year abroad someday.
