Learn how to enliven and enrich reading, math, and other subjects with the arts! Educators, administrators, artists, and parents are invited to the eighth annual CSUS Arts Resource Faire
on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Sacramento State University in the University Union.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. Events continue until 5 pm FREE ADMISSION AND FREE PARKING ON CAMPUS.

The event will open with songs by Francie Dillon, now a CSUS Professor, and the Woodwind Quintet from the Sacramento Philharmonic performing “Carnaval of the Animals” by Saint-Saens. Other performers include a Wax Museum of Living History by Creative Connections Academy middle school students, a presentation by a group that takes the musical history of the blues to schools called “Blues in the Schools”, Songs of the Western Soil by local musicians Horse Sense, and interactive piano performance, exploring formation of creative cognition habits by Russian concert pianist/composer/educator Rozalina Gutman.

Artists and educators will present some 60 workshops on how to integrate visual arts, music, theatre, and dance into classroom curriculum. More than 25 vendors will also be on hand to share information about materials and services that can enhance visual and performing arts instruction.
The event is a project of the College of Education’s graduate program specializing in Arts in Education. Event sponsors include the College of Education; Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission; Phi Delta Kappa, Sacramento Chapter; and Sacramento State University Enterprises, Inc.
